August 9, 2010

So family. This week has definitely been a rough one. That is for sure. We have not been having any success. It has been very hard to find people lately. The rough part, is that we find a ton of potential investigators. But when it comes to us following up with them and meeting them at their house/calling them. They either blow us off or slam the door in our face. It is a huge problem with people and their work schedules at the mine. Because they are either sleeping because they have to go into work/just got off. Or they are working.
Or whatever other excuse they want to use. I wanna rebuke every single last one of them. They need to know how important this message that we share with them is. For crying out loud, it is the Doctrine and GOSPEL of JESUS CHRIST.  If they only knew just what kind of joy this message could bring into their lives, they would be chasing us down the street begging for us to come and teach them. "sigh" if they only knew.
But something good did happen this week i guess. We tried visiting this investigator we have, in which we have been having a lot of problems meeting her family. Well we dropped in and tried to see her, and the husband opened the door and we began making friends with him and letting him know we are nice guys. Then we tried asking him if his wife had spoken to him about the things we were teaching her. He said yes and that it just wasn't for them. Well I told him that he was wrong and then I introduced the Book of Mormon to him the way we were taught. And he genuinely accepted the invitation to read and to pray. We have a return appointment with him for tonight. Miracles really do happen, and people are more willing to accept as this invitation comes from their father in heaven. It was a really cool experience.
Though as much of a pain as this week has been, there were still some funny things that happened. Like we went over to dinner at the Bradley's house the other night. And their granddaughters are staying with them for the month. And the whole night, the youngest one is like poking Elder Howard and like not leaving him alone. Well her older sister spilled the beans and told us that she has a crush on him. The little girl who has the crush is only 6 years old. hahaha it was so funny. I have been giving him a pretty hard time about it because it is just really funny.
I honestly do not have a lot to write about this week, which is sad :(  haha. I wish i had more but no events have been happening. Nothing fun really, nothing exciting. BORING.
But what is awesome. Is that tomorrow, we get to go to the temple!!! i forgot about that until now. I'm so pumped. I will finally get the opportunity to see The Gila Valley Temple!!! and get to go inside. We have to be there at 1030 in the morning. I'm so excited. So now i know for sure i will have something to talk about for next week.
And I cant believe transfers and so close again. We will be getting our transfer calls this Sunday, then official transfers will happen on Tuesday now. So they are switching everything up.
Well I love you all so much. Thank you so much for writing me and loving me. I hope you all have a fantastic week.
Love, Elder Pierce
